White at IMATS in NY this year we got the pleasure to meet the makeup artist from Dancing with the Stars. She has her own line of illuminators and lip glosses. The powder and liquid cream highlighters are amazing. The colors are gorgeous and feel like you are putting jewelry on your skin. They shimmer and glow with such elegance.


I ended up buying the rose gold powder and then the light gold liquid cream. It was a hard decision but after she dusted the rose gold over my chest and cheeks I was hooked. It complemented my skin tone and now copper hair so well. It creates a gorgeous healthy flush. They blend into perfection. I use my large It Cosmetics powder brush for the powder and it works so well.

Both forms, liquid and powder can be used all over. You can mix it with foundation, put in on before foundation, after foundation, on your colorbone for demension, etc. The options are endless. She said you could even use them for eyeshadow. I feel that these will be some of my favorite summer go to's this year and also for the colder months to add color.

Her products have a vanilla scent which is subtle so no worries about it clashing with your perfume.

Being a redhead now, I had to find some new brow products to make my brows have a reddish tint. Dying them just kind of freaks me out so I'm all about the makeup products. Here are two I found and really like...

GOSH Cosmetics - Venetian Brown

I like this and the vibrancy it gives but it is harder to work with than a powder. I am not used to using a marker so it can be kind of weird for me. I think it is something I have to play with and get used to. I do like the color a lot though. This has great orange tones for a copper redhead. I think I might even try using this and the powder listed below and see how they look.



Vanity Mark Brow Powder - Gingerella

This is amazing. I wanted something that would give me the tones of my hair but wasn't flaming eyebrows. lol This is so natural looking but still has oomph. I love the texture. It's very easy to work with and can be used wet or dry. I have only used it dry so far. The pigmentation is fabulous, you don't need a lot to make an impact. And it stays, all day, no issues with smudging or anything! I heard about this from model Doris Mayday on her Instagram and couldn't be happier.

using Vanity Mark Brow Powder in Gingerella

A new found love of mine is Josie Maran's Coconut Watercolor Cheek Gelée. It is so gorgeous and definitely something different that I've never tried before. If you like cream blushes I think you will like this. But I also think if you haven't tried cream blushes but like a nice wash of color for any season then you will love it as well.

I apply it with my Real Techniques stippling brush and leave it light but it is totally build able to a more dramatic look. It can also be used on your lips which is an added bonus. The cooling sensation is so refreshing that this will be fabulous for summertime and the beach!

The Shades:
Coral Oasis - tangerine orange
Poppy Paradise - warm toned hot pink
Pink Escape - cool toned pink
Getaway Red - true red
Berry Bliss - deep wine
Honeymoon Honey - neutral brown

I have it in Coral Oasis and Honeymoon Honey. They are just gorgeous! Coral Oasis gives the most energizing glow to my cheeks. It's so happy to look at too. Honeymoon Honey is almost like a bronzer. I have to play with this one still but I think it would work really nice as a contour. I love brown makeup for cheeks and lips. I am always very drawn to it. I guess it's my 90's child inside.

It claims to have up to 14 hours of color... I don't know if I believe that but other than that I think these are fabulous.

This favorite is for my hair. It is a drugstore gem that I love and usually go back to a lot. Aussie's 3 Minute Miracle is really a miracle. It makes my hair super soft, smells like heaven (the scent lasts too which is amazing), and it's a quick fix! I just had my hair dyed reddish copper so my hair needed some deep conditioning. I used it twice this week. Every time I shampoo I throw it in my hair and just wait for a few minutes and wala - soft and lovely scented hair! For $4, you can't beat it!

Since I just went through a pretty drastic change (from brown to reddish copper)... I thought I would post a picture of my hair and then the ladies that have influenced my decision to go red. :)

This past weekend was great and one reason was because I got to attend IMATS for the second time! My good friend Kendall and I go (it's our thing) and it is always worth the trip. We've been lucky both years we have gone with beautiful spring weather. Once we go to the NYC IMATS, it's spring. :)

This week is yes, another mascara. I had a 100 point sample of Tarte's Lights Camera Lashes Mascara and it is really great. It actually surprised me. Usually the more traditional mascara brushes don't impress me but this one was different. Maybe it was the way the bristles were spaced or the material they were made of or maybe it was just the formula. I don't know what it is, but it works! It feathers lashes out beautifully and gives a great fringy (not a word? lol). This mascara is also one of the first ones I've tried where I can actually say that it curls my lashes. No eyelash curler needed.

Kat Von D released more palettes! There are two new for Spring/Summer but I only bought one. I purchased the Monarch Eyeshadow Palette and it is gorgeous! It retails for $46.00.

Warm toned, but it does have a few cool toned shades mixed in to balance. This palette has a perfect mix of matte, shimmer, and satin shadows as well as shades perfect for blending. It really has a great variety in one palette. Plus the packaging is just beautiful!

Bonjour! Too Faced has re-released their summer palette from last year (under a new name) and I am SO happy! This year it is called Bonjour Summer. I bought it in the Pardon My French Set at Sephora. It comes with a full size black eyeliner, a sample of their Shadow Insurance, a little travel bag, and a deluxe sample of their Lash Injection Mascara which I have yet to test out. I had missed this palette last year and really regretted not purchasing it so I am thrilled that they pretty much kept it the same so I could get my hands on it.

This baby has a great mix of browns, creams, and brights. It's the perfect spring into summer transition palette. Of course the pigmentation and quality is what you expect from Too Faced, amazing. The price is their standard $36.00 for just the palette. If you order the set like I did it costs $49.00.



The Shades:
Seashell - matte pastel coral (nice blending shade to add a glow/lit from within effect)
Plumeria - shimmering (slightly leaning on duo chrome) medium blue pink
Cocoa Beach - rich brown with hints of burgundy and some sparkle
Sand Dollar - matte tropical white sand
Firefly - shimmery copper
Chocolate Sun - deep chocolate brown with gold sparkle
Sunbeam - Sparkling sheer yellow (would work nicely as an overlay over your whole look to add some sparkle or a highlight on your cheek bones)

I've really been getting into the 1960's vibe lately, with decorating and makeup especially. I've always had a little thing for the style. Lately though I don't know if it's because spring is coming and the colors are popping or if it's the season premiere of Mad Men this coming weekend that is getting me in the mood. Joan is my personal fave. She is so fiery and represents all us curvy girls! Go Christina Hendricks! I'm thinking a Mad Men makeup inspired look will have to happen this week.
