Lately I have been finding myself becoming more and more curious about all natural beauty and skincare. More brands are coming along with amazing products that have ingredients as organic as what is in your fridge. If you don't want to purchase pre-made products there is also the world of homemade beauty products and skincare. We are talking food grade skincare people! Oatmeal for my face? Sure!

I have my mother in law and one of my best friends Kendall to thank for getting me more involved with healthy skincare and cosmetics. It's such a huge part of the beauty world and I am just touching the surface of this wondrous place! This series of posts will concentrate on homemade and all natural products from lipstick to facial oil. I hope to help people become aware of this growing industry and find great products along the way!

Now I am not planning on going full on organic/natural in all of my beauty products. I do still have tons of items in my collection that I love which are not organic or natural. I am expanding my horizons and dipping into healthier products. All types of beauty interests me so this includes the natural section as well!

I read on a few different blogs and Pinterest that lavender essential oil is great for keeping your lashes long and strong by adding it to your mascara. Of course I had to go out and purchase some to get started. I will put putting a tiny bit of lavender and possibly the rose hip oil into my Younique 3D Fiber Lash mascara and will definitely keep you guys updated on my thoughts/results. So exciting!

Mac has a beautiful and wide range of blushes. Everything from shimmer to matte and from pure red to ivory. I've been on the hunt lately for a lavender blush and I think I've found it in Full of Joy by Mac. The below photo is not very true to color. It appears more lavender than pink on my skin. It has a very find shimmer that glows in almost a silver sheen. The color is different, not something I would have thought I would wear but that's also why I was on the hunt for a color like this. I wanted something different. It really is gorgeous and I can see this working really nice as a highlight on deeper skin tones. It does seam like more of a spring shade but since it's a new find I plan on making it work for upcoming seasons.

definitely showing more cool toned pink than lavender here

more true to color

Today's makeup of the day is done using Mac's Kelly Osbourne collection. I ordered the eyeshadow palette, the brow duo (for use as eyeshadow), Kelly's Mineralize Skinfinish Duo along with Sharon's Mineralize Skinfinish Duo.

The products are nice and great for spring. The lipsticks sold out within the first couple hours so I didn't get my hands on any of them. I am not completely sure if I will keep the eye palette because I feel like the texture is pretty stiff. It was something different for me because I don't usually like purples. Kelly has been looking great since her lavender hair makeover and I just had to take part. I think that's the main thing that sold me. In the fall I am thinking of doing a grey silver hair color so I thought this would complement that look. We'll see...
