Spring is in the air, open your window to new colors! Christian Louboutin is releasing a three nail polish set in a box inspired by Jackson Pollock's drip/splatter style paintings. The set of brights retails for $90. It includes a medium blue, light yellow, and a cream color.
If you are a nail polish or Louboutin enthusiast this would make a great addition to your collection. Although I don't know how many will be splurging on the $90 set. What are your thoughts? I personally only buy expensive polishes in colors I would wear consistently. Otherwise I feel like it's a waste of money.

Coming January 1st 2015 to all salons (including Ulta), OPI is releasing a Fifty Shades of Grey nail polish collection. It includes what looks like six colors in silver, grey (duh), and a gorgeous crimson. I can't wait to get my hands on Christian Grey these nail polishes. I love grey to begin with and add in names like "My Silk Tie" and "Cement the Deal" I'm all in. ;)

First, I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving! Keeping with the warm tones of the holiday season I chose to paint my nails a metallic gold from Nars. It's called Gold Viper. I love it! It's really like jewelry for my nails.

If you thought shelling out $50 for one of Mr. Louboutin's nail rouges was rough try $675! That's right ladies, for $675 you get a classic red nail color encased in his signature nail rouge bottle that is encrusted with 1,800 hand applied Strass crystals complete with a black box that also includes some bling from red silk and crystal flowers. Talk about a luxury purchase!
I know how guilty I felt buying a $50 nail polish. I still did it because I knew I had to have the iconic red rouge for my nails but this is a little over the top in my opinion. You are basically paying for packaging and his name. Which is completely fine and if this is your thing, then by all means splurge. I just can't see myself paying this much for nail polish. I'm completely happy gazing upon my Louboutin Rouge lacquer in its "plain ordinary packaging".

It's Mani Monday again! This past week I wanted to do a black shade to be festive for Halloween and who doesn't love a glossy black polish? I chose Nails Inc. polish in Alexa Silk. It's a black base with an almost gunmetal pearl mixed in, a super elegant black. When you look at it, it really does give off a silk like effect.

This week's Mani Monday is a rich one. Essie's new nail lacquer in "Partner in Crime" is the perfect vampy Fall polish. It's a deep rich chocolate brown with a high shine finish.
I love how shiny it is, resembling patent leather. I used my Sephora Formula X nail cleanser, base coat, and top coat. So far it's been a week without any chipping. This is the perfect shade if you want to add a touch of the trending 90's grunge look to your everyday beauty routine. Find it here. Find the Sephora Formula X system here.

The theme for my list this week is the color grey (gray?). It's my favorite color and just a great neutral shade. And yes, there really are 50 (and then some) shades of grey! lol
My Love/Wish List:
It's Mani Monday again, wow the weeks are flying by. This week I wanted something brighter and happy so I chose FormulaX Unmistakable, a robins egg blue. I also decided to try Sally Hansen's new Miracle Gel Top Coat and so far so good!
What color are you wearing this week?

So you ask, a foundation for your nails? I say yes! Butter London has a base coat in a satin nude tone. I think it would be universally flattering. You can wear it underneath your nail polish to create a flawless application or you can wear it on its own. Above I have just the nail foundation on (4 coats mind you) with no top coat. Now if you want the above opaque finish you will need multiple coats, there is no question. It will take some time to dry. But that can't really be a complaint because the purpose is to use it as a base coat not as a standard nail polish.
This nail foundation is not a necessity but it does work nicely and I like that it can be worn on its own. It has a satin finish meaning it has a little shine but appears almost matte.
