This is the perfect look for a Christmas or holiday party this season. Throne from the prism palette is the star of this show I feel. It's a complex and stunning green shade. I was extremely happy with how it applied both dry and wet with Fix + by Mac Cosmetics.

Tarte Light of the Party Collector's Case - Swatches!

It's that time of year ladies and gents, holiday makeup collectors have arrived! Tarte has released a simply glamorous collection this year! As soon as I saw this palette case I knew I had to add it to my collection.

If you are looking to try out Tarte's eyeshadows, blush, and bronzer then this is for you! If you are a glam glow getter, this is for you! And finally if you are a neutral loving mother, this is for you!

The texture of the shadows are buttery and smooth. The paler shades (swatched below) basically blend into my skin because I am pale (NC15 - NW20) but they are just as pigmented as the other shades in this collection. I love the variety of neutrals included too. You have everything you need right here, a navy all the way to a mauve. All the trending colors are included.

This retails for $59 and is limited edition. I purchased mine at Sephora. The set also includes a travel palette with six more eyeshadows, a highlighter, blush, and bronzer plus a deluxe sample mascara, a nice size mirror, and double ended eyeshadow brush.

Dior Golden Reflections Eyeshadow Plalette

I haven't purchased any Dior eyeshadows before because none of them really stood out to me as something I needed to have. But their 2014 Holiday collection was a different story.

Golden Reflections is a neutral palette on fairy dust. It screams seduction and glamour. The five colors all blend beautifully and I love that you can go all out glam or create a subtle work look in a matter of minutes. My favorite shade in this palette is the tarnished metallic gold.

This was part of the limited edition holiday collection but it is still available here at Macy's.

Mac's Red Red Red Collection!

Feeling festive as the holidays approach? Try anything crimson! Mac's new limited edition Red Red Red collection is just that, red! From lips to eyes they have you saturated in the seductive hue.

As if having the new Pantone Color of the Year be a rich burgundy brown wasn't enough, I am super excited to try these red themed eyeshadows from Mac. I've been really into the red/burgundy/rust eyeshadow trend lately and this just adds to my fire. How about you guys, will you be trying out this daring red look?

Starlooks Gem Eyeliner - Ultra Olive

Ipsy had a great bag this month. My favorite item was the Starlooks Gem Eyeliner in the shade Ultra Olive. It is the perfect shade of tarnished gold, what I would call a vintage gold. I love the creamy texture too. I had been looking for an eyeliner in this color for a while so when I opened my bag and saw it I was so excited! I would definitely recommend this for your holiday looks! It's glamorous but also great for everyday when you want to add a little twinkle.

Christian Louboutin Starlight Nail Lacquer

If you thought shelling out $50 for one of Mr. Louboutin's nail rouges was rough try $675! That's right ladies, for $675 you get a classic red nail color encased in his signature nail rouge bottle that is encrusted with 1,800 hand applied Strass crystals complete with a black box that also includes some bling from red silk and crystal flowers. Talk about a luxury purchase!

I know how guilty I felt buying a $50 nail polish. I still did it because I knew I had to have the iconic red rouge for my nails but this is a little over the top in my opinion. You are basically paying for packaging and his name. Which is completely fine and if this is your thing, then by all means splurge. I just can't see myself paying this much for nail polish. I'm completely happy gazing upon my Louboutin Rouge lacquer in its "plain ordinary packaging".

Mac Holiday Keepsakes Collection - Smoky Eye Palette

Mac always has a great collection during the holiday season and it is definitely one of the brands I look forward to checking out this time of year. Although the last couple years their pigmentation in limited edition palettes has been below average some of them are still worth checking out.

This year, like every year, I purchased their smoky eye holiday palette. I am always drawn to those types of colors and I know it is something I will use on a regular basis. This year's palette is a nice collection of 8 colors that include both matte and shimmer. It also includes their permanent shadow in Satin Taupe which is one of my all time favorite eyeshadows.

The pigmentation of this wasn't fantastic, I wanted a little bit more but when i applied it to my eyes with my brushes it applied much better than I thought and looked a lot better than it did when I swatched the colors below with my finger. So definitely keep that in mind. I would also suggest going to your local Mac store or counter to check these out in person.

Mac Holiday - Modern Majesty Pressed Pigment

Mac has just started releasing their holiday 2014 collection and some of the pieces look pretty awesome. I purchased two products so far, this Modern Majesty pigment is one of them and I'm so happy I got my hands on it. The one thing I will say that disappointed me is that the permanent pressed pigments are much larger and this is regular eyeshadow size for the same price. But, pressed pigments do last a long time so I still think it's worth it since it is limited edition.

Anyway, the color is a beautiful kind of duo chrome burgundy plum but when watched it turns kind of reddish brown. I really love the tones this has and it's really elegant. This is also a really gorgeous color for fall.

Halloween Looks - Peacock

This look is from an older self portrait photo shoot I did but I thought it would be a good start to some Halloween looks! It's inspired by a peacock obviously and I think it's simple but exotic at the same time. This is definitely a great option for a quick costume look. Enjoy!

Mac Nocturnals - Green & Teal Pigment Set

Mac Cosmetics has released three sets of pigment for the holiday season. I have gotten the green and teal set. It looked like something that was different from anything in my collection already pigment wise. They retail at $32.50 on Mac's website. There is also the Black & Gold set (which I am eyeing) and the Silver & Violet set. I believe the Green & Teal set is sold out but I am almost positive you can grab this one off ebay.

For those of who don't know about pigments, they are really fun. They are loose shadows and mostly shimmery and glittery. You can do so many things with them, from a highlight on the cheeks, mixing with foundation for a glow, or mix with your lipstick for some added dimension. They also are one of those products that can work wonderful wet. Mac's Fix+ is a great product to use for that.

Fix+

One of my favorite pigments from Mac is the shade Tan. It is a rose gold/bronze shade. You can mix this with foundation and it looks gorgeous! It is really great all year long but in the summer with a tan = golden goddess! For my fellow blue eyed lady's out there, it makes your eye color stand out so vividly.

Anyway, back to this holiday set....

The set includes these five shades:

Reflects Gold - a white with golden glitter
Old Gold - a tarnished gold
3D Gold - pure glitter with some rainbow like reflects
Deep Blue Green - a deep navy teal with shimmer
Just Before Dawn - a warm taupe frost

These shades really can make some interesting looks. I have not had the pleasure of experimenting with them yet but I look forward to it. That Reflects Gold is a really pretty highlight on the lid for just about every look from a daytime look you want to spice up to a smoldering evening smoke. Gold is very in this season and this is a nice set for people wanting to experiment with that trend and the pigments themselves. Even these smaller sized pigments will last you FOREVER. You only need the smallest amount to get intense pigmentation.
