I guess you could say I've been on a little bit of a blush and bronzer kick lately. I've been searching for some new products to add color to my everyday look. I recently dyed my hair back to black and I need a little glow to boost my complexion.

So as I perused Sephora in my local JC Penney's last night I came across the new Nars' blush in Unlawful. It wasn't a color I would have gone out to specifically purchase but in person, wow it is stunning!

At a quick glance it looks like Orgasm or Super Orgasm but when you take a closer look and swatch this bad girl, it's a beautiful iridescent rose gold with silver glitter. It is truly a multidimensional shade and I couldn't think of any blushes like it in my collection. Pictures will not do this justice. It's really a product that needs to be seen in person.

Sephora recently had a 15% off code for about a week and well, I went crazy. lol I figured it was a good time to get things I had been looking at for a while and have been wanting to test/try out. Plus it's springtime and I love all the glowy makeup that comes out this time of year.

Here is my makeup of the day... a moody blue grey smoke. It's a great look to go with all the nautical clothing this time of year. A nice spin on the smokey eye without any black shadow while still having depth. The colors remind me of a jazz club. I wanted to test out more colors from the Too Faced Matte Palette and this is what I came up with.

Nars Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in the shade Walkyrie is the perfect muted brownish red. I am in love with it. It reminds me of Kat Denning's lip color in the show Two Broke Girls which is supposedly Tarte's Envy Matte Lip Pencil (also a gorgeous shade).


I love 90's lip colors. They have a muted brown undertone that I think is so pretty. This shade is described as a warm coral red creme. I can see some coral tones in it and red but also brown. I think the coral stops it from being too brown and muddy. It's a great red for people who are hesitant to wear a power red during the day, or night for that matter. But this shade is definitely a power red in my opinion. It is such a sexy shade.

I feel like it would suite a wide variety of skin tones because it is kind of neutral or muted I guess. But I think the darker your complexion it will take on a different look and I think the coral will pop more.

I have purchased two Nars duos within the past month and they are making their way into my everyday makeup routine. Both are really nice tie ins to some of my palettes that are missing that one shade I wish it had. Well these two duos are really working out fantastically for that. They retail at $34.00 each and are part of the permanent line.

Fall is here and winter is on its way... having dry skin I love a dewy finish and need that extra moisture this time of year especially. I find that a lot of beauty gurus on YouTube or on other beauty blogs have oily skin. I am always on the search for blogs with people who have dry skin like me and can help give me ideas. If you have any suggestions please let me know! I do follow Jaclyn Hill, she is great and has me out buying things all the time that she reviews (including a few of the foundations below).
